Will your survivor keep calm and carry on?
In the year 2010, a catastrophic bioengineering experiment took place somewhere in the world. The ill-fated project, intended to combat a global epidemic, quickly spiralled out of control, leading to a worldwide outbreak dubbed the Lazarus Pathogen.
As the infection spread like wildfire, The United Kingdom along with most of the world is transformed into haunting remnants of a bygone era. The once-vibrant cityscapes are now an apocalyptic wasteland, with crumbling buildings, abandoned vehicles, and remnants of desperate attempts to barricade against the undead leaving only a few safe places and safe harbours.
Thistledrift is one of these places on the east coast of the United Kingdom that was lucky enough to be isolated enough to give it time to adapt local environments enough to create a safe harbour for what remained of any structure of society. It is now the home port of the NATO vessel Europa, one of 2 remaining vessels that the European Union have put together to try and find a cure to rebuild as despite the fact the Lazarus Pathogen entering the world stage in the UK there is not one bit of proof it was created there and what remains of the United Kingdom Government rebut the allegations.

Lola looked at the man worried as she looked at the bruise on his face from where she had accidentally hurt him. She was refusing to talk about it, but she did feel bad as she led the way through the village to the place she kept track of communication.
René paused just outside the threshold of the door to the old radio station. 'What if this wasn't his family,'he thought. 'Have I been getting my hopes up the last few days just to have them crushed yet again.' He had stopped so abruptly before entering that Lola hadn't even…

Lola was not one to normally dwell on the past or anything that normally effected her but the persistent nightmare kept hitting her where she had not kneed Smith about that could of happened or potentially worse what was going to happen when the Europa returned in a couple of weeks. She tossed and turned in bed not realising how deep she was in the dream where she was being chased through the village by the man who had a weapon somehow.
René had learned to be a light sleeper in the last three years, a skill that had saved…

Mission: Safe Harbour

After the hearing with the council, Bert was hungry. He avoided breakfast as his stomach had been doing summersaults since he'd woken up.
He had nothing to hide but at the same time the fear of rejection was real. Especially in this dangerous world. He'd left a personal safe haven of sorts to come with these people. Being case out would of meant starting from scratch in a new location, something he probably didn't have the strength for in the harsh winter.
He walked towards the pub that had been introduced to him the night before as the settlements canteen.…

Rene sat outside the town hall on a bench waiting to be brought in before before the council. He took a deep breath and wondered what was going to happen. He was sure there were going to be questions. There always was when arriving in a new community.
"You been summoned too, Frenchy?" Bert asked as he took a seat at the other end of the bench. He had to admit it was nice to have a fresh change of clothes and a hot bath. He couldn't remember the last time he felt this clean.
René turned to look at…

Mission: Safe Harbour

René was wandering about the icy streets of Thistledrift. He had been in Thistledrift for the last few days. He knew that he needed to find something to do for the community and since the community was small, it probably didn't require the services of a courier. Living off the kindness of strangers in the world was not an option. He wanted to prove useful.
René was walking down a snow covered road and heard the sound of clanging metal. He followed the sound to a garage attached to a cottage style home much like most of Thistledrift's buildings. A…
